19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a difficult year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with former coach Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first title since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of that year.
The win also indicates he has secured 21 titles at twenty-one different competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on court had caused commentators to question if his capacity to play at the elite level was over.
However the player has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced serve.
The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden professional championship, took control to force a third set.
Moutet defended 4 early chances in a competitive third set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
